Kaplan turbine is widely used in a hydro power stations with the head of 2-30 meters. It is equipped with a vertical axle. There are three different types of this kind in which there is anopen trough or apressure trough or closed concrete worm-shelltrough. The turbine is made up of several propellers or manualy-ajusted blades. The water pipe at the end is vertical cone-shaped or elbow-shaped.
